In applying and construing this article, consideration must be given to the need to promote uniformity of the law with respect to its subject matter among states that enact it. As added by P.L.138-2007, SEC.45. IC 31-21-7-2 Invalidity of provisions Sec. 2. If a provision of this article or its application to a person or circumstance is held invalid, the invalidity does not affect other provisions or applications of this article that can be given effect without the invalid provision or application, and to this end the provisions of this article are severable. As added by P.L.138-2007, SEC.45. IC 31-21-7-3 Request for relief prior to July 1, 2007 Sec. 3. A motion or other request for relief made: (1) in a child custody proceeding; or (2) to enforce a child custody determination; that was commenced before July 1, 2007, is governed by the law in effect at the time the motion or other request was made.
