Chapter 9. Publication and Distribution of Reports of Indiana

Distribution of reports
Sec. 1. The annual reports of the meetings of the Indiana
Academy of Science, beginning with the report for the year 1894,
including all papers of scientific or economic value presented at such
meetings, after they shall have been edited and prepared for
publication shall be published by the Indiana Academy of Science.

Preparation of reports for publication; expenses
Sec. 2. The reports shall be edited and prepared for publication
without expense to the state, by a corps of editors to be selected and
appointed by the Indiana Academy of Science, who shall not, by
reason of such services, have any claim against the state for
compensation. The form, style of binding, paper, typography, and
manner and extent of illustration of the reports shall be determined
by the editors. Not less than one hundred (100) nor more than three
thousand (3,000) copies of each of said reports shall be published,
the number of which must be determined by the concurrent decision
of the editors and the Indiana state library.

Custody of reports
Sec. 3. (a) The Indiana Academy of Science shall provide copies
of each volume of said reports to the Indiana state library. The
number of copies provided to the Indiana state library shall be
determined by the Indiana Academy of Science and the state
librarian. The Indiana state library shall, upon request, furnish one
(1) copy thereof to the following:
(1) Each public library in the state.
(2) Each university or college in the state.
(3) Other institutions, societies, or persons designated by the
academy through its editors or its council.
(b) The Indiana Academy of Science shall pay for shipping of a
report under subsection (a) to a recipient located outside Indiana.
(c) To the extent that the Indiana Academy of Science makes
papers and proceedings of the Indiana Academy of Science available
to the public through open electronic access, the Indiana state library
has no duty to furnish hard copies of the papers and proceedings.
