Except as provided in IC 31-28-4, the adoption of a child who is born in one (1) state by a person in another state is subject to the Interstate Compact on the Placement of Children under IC 31-28-4. As added by P.L.1-1997, SEC.11. Amended by P.L.145-2006, SEC.244. IC 31-19-1-2 Exclusive jurisdiction of probate court Sec. 2. (a) This section applies to each Indiana county that has a separate probate court. (b) The probate court has exclusive jurisdiction in all adoption matters. As added by P.L.1-1997, SEC.11.
