Sec. 0.01.
Short title.
This Act may be cited as the
Historical Sites Listing Act.

Sec. 1.
Any person or State or local governmental agency owning a site of
general historical interest or having the written consent of the owner of
such a site may apply to the Historic Preservation Agency to have that
site listed and marked as a State historic site.

Sec. 2.
If the Historic Preservation Agency finds
that a site described in
an application under Section 1 is of sufficient general historical interest
to warrant listing and marking, it shall list the site in a register kept
for that purpose and shall display at the site a suitable marker indicating
that the site is a registered State historic site.

Sec. 3.
The Historic Preservation Agency, in cooperation with the Division
of Highways of the Department of
Transportation and any other interested
public or private agency, shall place and maintain all markers at State
historic sites registered under this Act.
