Sec. 1.
Every person, firm or corporation owning, leasing or managing
any bridge over a navigable portion of the Illinois River shall
construct and maintain in good repair, contiguous to the channel of the
river, adequate pier protection for the piers of such bridge, of modern
construction, and adequate to meet navigation requirements existing at
the time or reasonably to be expected in the future during the life of
such piers.

Short title.
This Act may be cited as the
