                  THE MEDICAL CONSENT AND NATURAL DEATH ACT
    39-4511.  REVOCATION. (1) A "Living Will and Durable Power of Attorney for
Health Care" may be revoked at any time by the maker thereof, without regard
to his mental state or competence, by any of the following methods:
    (a)  By being canceled, defaced, obliterated or burned, torn, or otherwise
    destroyed by the maker thereof, or by some person in his presence and by
    his direction;
    (b)  By a written, signed revocation of the maker thereof expressing his
    intent to revoke; or
    (c)  By an oral expression by the maker thereof expressing his intent to
    revoke.
    (2)  There shall be no criminal or civil liability on the part of any
person for the failure to act upon a revocation of a "Living Will and Durable
Power of Attorney for Health Care" made pursuant to this section unless that
person has actual knowledge of the revocation.
    (3)  A person may register a revocation of a health care directive which
meets the requirements of subsection (1)(b) of this section with the secretary
of state pursuant to the provisions of section 39-4515, Idaho Code. Failure to
register a revocation of the health care directive shall not affect the
validity of the revocation.
