2005 Idaho Code - 20-236 — MEMBERS OR EMPLOYEES OF BOARD NOT TO BE INTERESTED IN CONTRACTS -- PENALTY FOR VIOLATION

                          STATE BOARD OF CORRECTIONS
    20-236.  MEMBERS OR EMPLOYEES OF BOARD NOT TO BE INTERESTED IN CONTRACTS
-- PENALTY FOR VIOLATION. No member or employee of the state board of
correction shall be interested directly or indirectly in any manner in
contracts for furnishing the penitentiary or any property used in connection
therewith or inmates thereof, any supplies, materials, equipment, or for the
use of said institution. Nor shall any officer or employee be permitted to
receive in any way perquisites for themselves or family, or any compensation
or reward from any contractor or employee or other person. Should any officer
or employee violate, or wilfully or negligently fail to observe the provisions
and prohibitions of this section, he shall be at once dismissed from office by
the state board of correction; and further, upon conviction of such violation
by a court of competent jurisdiction, he shall be fined a sum not exceeding
$1,000.00 and not less than one month's pay, and shall forfeit his interest in
any and all contracts or rewards he may have received or agreed to receive in
violation of the provisions of this section.
