10 GCA HEALTH AND S AFETY CH. 26 HOTEL S ANITATION CHAPTER 26 HOTEL SANITATION § 26101. Definition. § 26102. Disease Control. § 26103. Approval of Plans and Specifications. § 26101. Definition. As used in this Chapter: (a) Hotel means any structure or any portion of any structure, including any lodging house, rooming house, dormitory (including a dormitory housing for contract employees) health spa, bachelor hotel, studio hotel, motel, private club, containing four (4) or more guest rooms and which is occupied or is intended or designed for occupancy, by four (4) or more guests, whether rent is paid in money, goods, labor or otherwise or whether with or without meals. It does not include any penal institution, hospital, clinic, nursing home, school, laboratory or child care facility as defined in Chapter 25. SOURCE: GC § 9560. § 26102. Disease Control. No employer, owner, manager or person in charge or control shall permit any person to work in a hotel knowing such person to have or having reason to believe that he has a disease in communicable form or is a carrier of such disease; and no person shall work in a hotel, whether in his own or another's employ knowing himself to have or having reason to believe that he has any such disease or is a carrier of any such disease. If any employer, owner, manager or person in charge or control suspects that any employee has any such disease in a communicable form or is a carrier of such disease, he shall notify the Director immediately. When any hotel is constructed or extensively remodeled or when an existing structure is converted for use as a hotel, then the owner or person in charge or control shall comply with the provisions of § 21102 of this Part and regulations promulgated the reunder.
