It is the intent of the General Assembly, in the interest of public health, safety, and welfare, to safeguard homeowners, other property owners, tenants, and the general public against faulty, inadequate, inefficient, and unsafe residential and commercial general contractors. The practice of residential and commercial general contracting is declared to be a business or profession affecting the public interest and this chapter shall be liberally construed so as to accomplish the intent and purposes stated in this Code section.

Amended by 2024 Ga. Laws 583,§ 1, eff. 7/1/2024.

Added by 2004 Ga. Laws 598, § 1, eff. only upon the effective date of an appropriation of funds as expressed in a line item making specific reference to the full funding of 2004 Ga. Laws 598 in an appropriations Act enacted by the General Assembly.

Former Chapter 41, "RECREATION ADMINISTRATORS, LEADERS, SPECIALISTS, AND TECHNICIANS," comprised of §§ 43-41-1 through 43-41-20, was repealed.
