OPINIONS OF THE ATTORNEY GENERAL First offender treatment as “conviction”. —First offender treatment upon a verdict or plea of guilty is a “conviction” within the meaning of the Drug-free Postsecondary Education Act (O. C. G. A. § 20-1-20 et seq.), applicable to students in institutions of higher learning. 1992 Op. Att'y Gen. No. 92-10.
