§ 43-50-43. Veterinary Faculty Licenses
The board may, in its discretion, issue a veterinary faculty license to any qualified applicant associated with one of this state’s institutions of higher learning and involved either in research activities within such institution or in the instructional program of either undergraduate or graduate veterinary medical students, subject to the following conditions:
- That the holder of the veterinary faculty license shall be remunerated for the practice aspects of his or her services solely from state, federal, or institutional funds and not from the animal patient-owner beneficiary of his or her practice efforts;
- That the holder of the veterinary faculty license shall practice solely at the institution of higher learning or in an educational or research program outside the institution but associated with the institution;
- That the license issued under this Code section may be revoked or suspended or the licensee may be otherwise disciplined in accordance with Code Section 43-50-41; and
- That the license issued under this Code section may be canceled by the board upon receipt of information that the holder of the veterinary faculty license has left or has otherwise been discontinued from faculty employment at an institution of higher learning of this state.
