§ 46-9-139. Selling or Dealing in Passenger Tickets by Person Other Than Authorized Agent of Common Carrier Issuing Such Tickets

  1. It shall be unlawful for any person, other than the authorized agent of the common carrier issuing the same, to sell or otherwise deal in, or offer to sell, any passenger ticket which was issued and sold for less than the standard schedule rate under contract with the original purchaser and upon which ticket appears a statement, signed by the original purchaser, that the ticket is nontransferable and void in the hands of any person other than the original purchaser, provided that nothing in this Code section shall be construed as interfering with the right of the original purchaser of a transferable ticket to sell the same to a person who will in good faith personally use it to embark on a journey.
  2. Any person who violates this Code section shall be guilty of a misdemeanor.
