JUDICIAL DECISIONS

Liability of counties for acts of sheriffs.

- Because Georgia counties and sheriffs appear inextricably intertwined, the acts of the sheriff are therefore the acts of the county for purposes of liability under 42 U.S.C. § 1983. Hamilton ex rel. Hamilton v. Cannon, 864 F. Supp. 1332 (M.D. Ga. 1994), rev'd on other grounds, 80 F.3d 1525 (11th Cir. 1996).
