§ 50-8-83. Powers, Duties, and Obligations of Regional Commission

Universal Citation: GA Code § 50-8-83 (2020)

A commission shall be, for its area, a regional commission as defined in and with all the powers, duties, and obligations of a regional commission set forth in Article 2 of this chapter and any other law of general application pertaining to regional commissions on July 1, 2009; and in addition shall have all of the other powers, duties, and obligations set forth in this article.

OPINIONS OF THE ATTORNEY GENERAL

Participation of county or municipality as member of Atlanta Regional Commission.

- County or municipality may participate as a member of the Atlanta Regional Commission for the limited purposes of federal laws and regulations governing metropolitan planning organizations while remaining a member of a regional development center other than the Atlanta Regional Commission so long as statutory processes and approvals are obtained. 2004 Op.
