Title 43 - Professions and Businesses
Chapter 28 - Occupational Therapists
§ 43-28-2. Declaration of Purpose

Universal Citation: GA Code § 43-28-2 (2020)

This chapter was enacted to safeguard the public health, safety, and welfare and to assure the availability of occupational therapy services of high quality to persons in need of such services. It is the purpose of this chapter to provide for the regulation of persons representing themselves as occupational therapists or as occupational therapy assistants, or persons performing services that constitute occupational therapy.

(Ga. L. 1976, p. 993, § 2; Ga. L. 2019, p. 745, § 1/HB 253.)

The 2019 amendment, effective July 1, 2019, substituted "representing themselves as occupational therapists or as occupational therapy assistants, or persons performing services that constitute occupational therapy" for "offering occupational therapy services to the public" at the end of the second sentence.
