- In light of the similarity of the statutory provisions some of the opinions noted hereunder were rendered prior to the reenactment and amendment of this chapter by Ga. L. 1983, p. 424, § 1, effective March 14, 1983, and are included within the annotations for this chapter.

Legislature intended to preempt local jurisdictions from establishing and maintaining local licensing schemes by enacting this chapter. 1980 Op. Att'y Gen. No. U80-31.

Issuance of limited license without requiring examination for licensure.

- An electrical contractor, master plumber, or journeyman plumber, legally practicing trade pursuant to a valid state-wide, county, or municipal qualifications license on the effective date of this chapter (July 1, 1980), may be issued a limited license by the respective Construction Industry Division to practice in the same capacity and within the same geographic area as that individual is currently licensed to practice without the necessity of taking an examination for licensure under this chapter. 1980 Op.
