2006 Georgia Code - 47-2-166
47-2-166. (a) Any person who was elected as a member of
the General Assembly at the November, 1966, general election and
who was a member of the retirement system at the time he took his
oath of office as a member of the General Assembly shall be
continued as a member of the retirement system in the same manner
as any other member of the retirement system during all continuous
terms of office, provided that he has not lost his membership in
the retirement system and he makes the contributions required under
the retirement system. (b)
The legislative fiscal officer is authorized and directed to pay
employer contributions for members under this Code section from the
funds appropriated for or otherwise made available for the
operations of the legislative branch of government of the state.
Service credited to a member under this Code section shall not be
counted as creditable service toward an involuntary separation
allowance under this chapter.
