601.31 Citrus inspectors; employment.

The Department of Agriculture may in each year employ as many citrus fruit inspectors for such period or periods, not exceeding 1 year, as said Department of Agriculture shall deem necessary for the effective enforcement of the citrus fruit laws of this state. All persons authorized to inspect and certify to the maturity and grade of citrus fruit shall be governed in the discharge of their duties as such inspectors by the provisions of law and by the rules and regulations prescribed by the Department of Citrus and the Department of Agriculture and shall perform their duties under the direction and supervision of the Department of Agriculture. All citrus inspectors appointed for the enforcement of this chapter shall be persons who are duly licensed or certified by the United States Department of Agriculture as citrus fruit inspectors.
