216.162   Governor's recommended budget to be furnished Legislature; copies to members.

216.162  Governor's recommended budget to be furnished Legislature; copies to members.--

(1)  At least 45 days before the scheduled annual legislative session, the Governor shall furnish each senator and representative a copy of his or her recommended balanced budget for the state, based on the Governor's own conclusions and judgment; provided, however, that in his or her first year in office a new Governor may request, subject to approval of the President of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, that his or her recommended balanced budget be submitted at a later time prior to the Governor's first regular legislative session.

(2)  There shall be included in such document the details of the Governor's recommended balanced budget, including his or her recommended appropriations pursuant to s. 216.163, his or her recommended revenues pursuant to s. 216.165, and a financial schedule showing that his or her estimates of state revenues will be sufficient to fund the Governor's recommendations pursuant to s. 216.167.
