393.50   Extended employment; purpose.

393.50  Extended employment; purpose.--

(1)  The purpose of the extended employment program is:

(a)  To provide extended employment in rehabilitation workshop facilities for developmentally disabled persons who are over 16 years of age and are, as a result of their disability, unable to enter the competitive labor market.

(b)  To encourage the development, improvement, and expansion of rehabilitation workshop facilities for developmentally disabled persons.

(2)  The department shall promulgate rules to implement the extended employment program pursuant to the purpose described in subsection (1).
