236.145 Residential nonpublic school contract reimbursement.
236.145 Residential nonpublic school contract reimbursement.--
(1) Annually, the Commissioner of Education shall obtain the cost of all residential nonpublic school contracts and calculate the cost to be reimbursed. The commissioner shall calculate by district and by student the total cost of the contracts and deduct the amount of the weighted full-time equivalent students generated plus the amount of federal entitlement funds for the disabled per student and any amount paid by the 1Department of Health and Rehabilitative Services or other federal, state, or local agency. Sixty percent of the difference between the actual cost of contract and the funds deducted shall be eligible for reimbursement.
(2) The commissioner shall request from the Legislature annually the amount of funds needed to reimburse the districts as calculated in subsection (1). If the Legislature does not appropriate the full amount requested, the amount appropriated shall be prorated among all eligible students.
