287.155   Motor vehicles; purchase by Division of Universities, 1Department of Health and Rehabilitative Services, Department of Juvenile Justice, and Department of Corrections.

287.155  Motor vehicles; purchase by Division of Universities, 1Department of Health and Rehabilitative Services, Department of Juvenile Justice, and Department of Corrections.--

(1)  The Division of Universities of the Department of Education, the 1Department of Health and Rehabilitative Services, the Department of Juvenile Justice, and the Department of Corrections are hereby authorized, subject to the approval of the Department of Management Services, to purchase automobiles, trucks, tractors, and other automotive equipment for the use of institutions under the management of the Division of Universities, the 1Department of Health and Rehabilitative Services, and the Department of Corrections, and for the use of residential facilities managed or contracted by the Department of Juvenile Justice.

(2)  The Department of Corrections shall, prior to purchasing motor vehicles, seek to procure the motor vehicles from those vehicles renovated pursuant to correctional work programs of the Department of Corrections, and for the use of residential facilities managed or contracted by the Department of Juvenile Justice.
