Chapter 565 - Employment of Persons with Disabilities
Section 31-138 - National Disability Employment Awareness Month.

Universal Citation: CT Gen Stat § 31-138 (2019)

The Governor shall proclaim the month of October of each year to be “National Disability Employment Awareness Month” to recognize and celebrate businesses who employ individuals with disabilities and to encourage other businesses to do so to reduce the unemployment rate of individuals with disabilities.

History: P.A. 77-128 dropped the word “Physically” from official designation of Handicapped Week; P.A. 17-202 replaced provision re first full week in October to be “National Employ the Handicapped Week” with provision re month of October to be “National Disability Employment Awareness Month”; P.A. 17-204 replaced provision re first full week in October to be “National Employ the Handicapped Week” with provision re month of October to be “National Disability Employment Awareness Month”, and added provision re recognizing and celebrating businesses who employ individuals with disabilities.
