Chapter 382c - Phlebotomists
Section 20-185v - Phlebotomists. Definition. Certification.

Universal Citation: CT Gen Stat § 20-185v (2019)

(a) As used in this section, “phlebotomist” means a person, acting on an order of a physician licensed pursuant to chapter 370, physician assistant licensed pursuant to chapter 370, advanced practice registered nurse licensed pursuant to chapter 378 or podiatrist licensed pursuant to chapter 375, who draws blood for diagnostic testing, transfusions, research or blood donations.

(b) A person who practices as a phlebotomist in the state may obtain certification as a phlebotomist from the American Society of Phlebotomy Technicians, National Center for Competency Testing, National Phlebotomy Association, National Healthcareer Association or American Medical Technologists.
