Section 17a-712 - (Formerly Sec. 19a-4d). Programs for persons who are deaf or hard of hearing.

Universal Citation: CT Gen Stat § 17a-712 (2018)

The Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services shall establish a program to provide alcohol and drug abuse services to persons who are deaf or hard of hearing. Said program shall provide a system of prevention, intervention, teaching and aftercare services in a manner which is most responsive to the needs of persons who are deaf or hard of hearing.

History: P.A. 93-381 effective July 1, 1993; P.A. 95-257 replaced Commissioner and Department of Public Health and Addiction Services with Commissioner and Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services, effective July 1, 1995; Sec. 19a-4d transferred to Sec. 17a-712 in 1997; P.A. 17-202 replaced “deaf and hearing impaired persons” with “persons who are deaf or hard of hearing”.
