CT Gen Stat § 29-312 (2013) What's This?

The Commissioner of Administrative Services may appoint a Deputy State Fire Marshal who shall be subject to the supervision and direction of the Commissioner of Administrative Services and be vested with all the powers conferred upon the State Fire Marshal by section 29-310.

History: 1961 act authorized promotion of deputy to major; 1972 act replaced civil service commission with personnel policy board; P.A. 73-88 deleted provision which had allowed deputy fire marshal to attain rank of major in state police by promotional appointment; P.A. 77-614 replaced commissioner of state police with commissioner of public safety, effective January 1, 1979; Sec. 29-58 transferred to Sec. 29-312 in 1983; P.A. 11-51 added provision re Commissioner of Construction Services appointing a Deputy State Fire Marshal, deleted reference to Sec. 29-4 and changed “Commissioner of Public Safety” to “Commissioner of Construction Services”, effective July 1, 2011; P.A. 13-247 changed “Commissioner of Construction Services” to “Commissioner of Administrative Services” and changed “said commissioner” to “the State Fire Marshal”, effective July 1, 2013.
