      Sec. 2-49. Preparation, printing and distribution of assembly journals. Within three months after the adjournment of each General Assembly, the clerk of the Senate and the clerk of the House of Representatives shall prepare a full and accurate alphabetical subject-index to the journals, and shall cause to be printed three hundred seventy-five copies of each of said journals with the index. One copy of each journal so indexed shall be certified by the clerk of the Senate or the clerk of the House, as the case may be, to be a true record of the proceedings of such house and shall be deposited in the office of the secretary as the official journal thereof. They shall cause to be transmitted directly to the secretary fifty copies of each journal, to the State Library fifty copies, to each incorporated or associated library in the state requesting the same and to each county bar library, one copy, and to each state officer, to each member of the General Assembly, one copy and to each town, at the request of the town clerk of such town, one copy, and the remainder shall be deposited with the secretary, who, upon receiving the certified copies as above provided, shall certify to the Comptroller that said journals have been indexed and distributed in accordance with this section; and the Comptroller shall thereupon draw his order on the Treasurer in favor of the persons whose duty it is to index and distribute the same, for the sum of three hundred dollars each for their services and expenses.

      History: P.A. 76-306 changed number of copies to be printed and to be distributed to state library and provided that journals be provided to towns at request of town clerk.
