Article 14 - Snowmobiles
§ 33-14-111. Snowmobile Operation on Right-of-Way of Streets, Roads, or Highways
- Except as provided in section 33-14-110 (2), no snowmobile shall be operated on the right-of-way of any interstate highway or freeway.

- A snowmobile may be operated on the right-of-way of other roads, streets, and highways as far as practicable from the roadway thereof.
- When operating on the right-of-way of a road, street, or highway as authorized by this section during hours of darkness, a snowmobile shall be operated only in conformity with the flow of traffic on the nearest lane of the adjacent roadway.
- [ Editor's note: This version of subsection (3) is effective until March 1, 2022.] Any person who violates this section is guilty of a class 2 petty offense and, upon conviction, shall be punished by a fine of one hundred dollars.
(3) [ Editor's note: This version of subsection (3) is effective March 1, 2022. ] Any person who violates this section commits a civil infraction and, upon conviction, shall be punished by a fine of one hundred dollars.

- Section 803(2) of chapter 462 (SB 21-271), Session Laws of Colorado 2021, provides that the act changing this section applies to offenses committed on or after March 1, 2022.
