§ 5-20-111. Compliance With Federal Law

Universal Citation: CO Code § 5-20-111 (2021)

A student loan servicer shall comply with all applicable federal laws and regulations relating to servicing, including the federal “Truth in Lending Act”, 15 U.S.C. sec. 1601 to 1667f, as amended, and the regulations adopted pursuant to that act. In addition to any other remedies provided by law, a violation of that act or regulations adopted pursuant to that act is a violation of this part 1 and a basis upon which the administrator may take enforcement action pursuant to this part 1.

Section 19 of chapter 378 (SB 21-057), Session Laws of Colorado 2021, provides that the act changing this section applies to conduct occurring on or after June 29, 2021, including collection of debts arising out of loans issued before June 29, 2021.
