Section 2-2-301. Call of houses to order.

Universal Citation: CO Rev Stat § 2-2-301 (2020)

At the time established as provided in section 2-2303.5 for the meeting of the first regular session of the general assembly next after the general election, the holdover senators and senators-elect shall meet in the hall of the senate, and the members-elect of the house of representatives shall meet in the hall of the house of representatives. The president of the next preceding session of the senate, or in case of the president's absence the holdover senator or one of them having served the longest continuous time in the senate, shall call the senate to order. The speaker of the next preceding session of the house of representatives, or in the speaker's absence the person holding a certificate issued by the secretary of state as a member and having served the longest continuous time in the house of representatives, shall call the house of representatives to order.
