5567. Every director and every other officer named in this article who is, in any manner interested, directly or indirectly, in any contract awarded, or to be awarded, by the board, or in the profits to be derived from such a contract, is guilty of a misdemeanor, and conviction of a person under this section shall work a forfeiture of his office.
