5016. In order to eliminate or acquire privately owned lands situated within the exterior boundaries of the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, the department is authorized to exchange for such lands other lands of approximately equal value which have been or may hereafter be patented to the state for park purposes by the federal government. In making the exchanges the department may comply with all rules prescribed by the Secretary of the Interior relating thereto.
