(a) The State Department of Public Health shall investigate and apply for federal funding opportunities, including, but not limited to, the grant available pursuant to Section 10005 of the federal 21st Century Cures Act (Public Law 114-146), to support maternal mental health, to the extent that programs are financed, in whole, by federal funds.

(b) The department shall notify the Legislature on or before January 1, 2020, on the department’s efforts to secure and utilize the federal funding it receives from the requirement specified in subdivision (a).

(c) This section shall remain in effect only until January 1, 2023, and as of that date is repealed, unless a later enacted statute that is enacted before January 1, 2023, deletes or extends that date.

(Added by Stats. 2018, Ch. 140, Sec. 1. (AB 1893) Effective January 1, 2019. Repealed as of January 1, 2023, by its own provisions.)
