CHAPTER 6.96 - Hazardous Materials Liability of Lenders and Fiduciaries
Section 25548.7.

25548.7.  

(a)  If a provision of this chapter would result in any of the actions specified in subdivision (b), the provision shall be deemed inoperative. However, the inoperation of a provision shall not affect other provisions or applications of this chapter which can be given effect without the inoperative provision and to this end the provisions of this chapter are severable.

(b)  Subdivision (a) shall apply if any provision of this chapter is inconsistent with federal law and the use or application of the provision would result in any of the following actions:

(1)  The imposition of a penalty by a federal agency on the state or any local agency.

(2)  A loss of federal authorization or loss of federal approval of a program conducted by the state or local agency.

(3)  A loss of federal funding to the state or any local agency for a program.
