1001.40. Notwithstanding any other provision of law, a county acting on behalf of one or more individual courts may by ordinance establish a program that provides for pretrial diversion by the court of any person issued a notice to appear for a traffic violation to attend any traffic violator school licensed pursuant to Chapter 1.5 (commencing with Section 11200) of Division 5 of the Vehicle Code.
