TITLE 2. GOVERNMENT OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA [8000 - 22980]
ARTICLE 4. Allocations to Local Agencies
Section 8686.3

CA Govt Code § 8686.3 (through 2012 Leg Sess) What's This?

Local agencies shall undertake to recover maximum federal participation in funding projects. No funds allocated under this chapter shall be used to supplant federal funds otherwise available in the absence of state financial relief. State contributions for such projects as determined by Section 8686 will be reduced by an amount equal to the amount local agencies would have recovered from federal disaster relief sources if they had applied for that funding and had executed the eligible projects in conformity with federal requirements. When a local agency applies for federal disaster relief funds, the secretary shall inform the agency of available state funds.

(Amended by Stats. 2010, Ch. 618, Sec. 91. Effective January 1, 2011.)
