CA Fam Code § 17508 (through 2012 Leg Sess) What's This?

(a) The Employment Development Department shall, when requested by the Department of Child Support Services local child support agency, or, the Franchise Tax Board for purposes of administering Article 5 (commencing with Section 19271) of Chapter 5 of Part 10.2 of Division 2 of the Revenue and Taxation Code, the federal Parent Locator Service, or the California Parent Locator Service, provide access to information collected pursuant to Division 1 (commencing with Section 100) of the Unemployment Insurance Code to the requesting department or agency for purposes of administering the child support enforcement program, and for purposes of verifying employment of applicants and recipients of aid under this chapter or CalFresh under Chapter 10 (commencing with Section 18900) of Part 6 of Division 9 of the Welfare and Institutions Code.

(b) (1) To the extent possible, the Employment Development Department shall share information collected under Sections 1088.5 and 1088.8 of the Unemployment Insurance Code immediately upon receipt. This sharing of information may include electronic means.

(2) This subdivision shall not authorize the Employment Development Department to share confidential information with any individuals not otherwise permitted by law to receive the information or preclude batch runs or comparisons of data.
