WELFARE AND INSTITUTIONS CODE
SECTION 15000-15001



15000.  Notwithstanding any provisions of Sections 29800 and 29805
of the Government Code, warrants payable to recipients of public
assistance shall not include any word or abbreviation indicative of
aid, assistance, charity, needy, support, or welfare. Nothing in this
section prohibits the use of code numbers or other code symbols used
and understood by county officers and agencies to identify the
purpose and liability for which such warrants are drawn, if such code
numbers or other code symbols are not generally so understood by the
public.


15001.  Any warrant issued in payment of aid under this division is
subject to the provisions of Section 29802 of the Government Code.
Each such warrant shall bear on its face a statement that the warrant
shall be void if not presented to the county treasurer for payment
within six months after the date of issuance thereof.
   The provision for a substitute warrant shall also apply to the
assignee of a warrant, or the legal representative or heir of a
deceased recipient, in accordance with the provisions of Section
12158 of this code.
