GOVERNMENT CODESECTION 55640-55642
55640. The board of supervisors of a county may provide rescue and resuscitator services throughout the county, and to this end the board may contract with the state, through the Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, for the providing of those rescue and resuscitator services within the county by the Director of Forestry and Fire Protection, his or her deputies, and assistants, including volunteer firefighters. 55641. When a contract has been made, the Director of Forestry and Fire Protection may exercise the same powers and duties within the county for the provision of rescue and resuscitator services which by state or local law are conferred upon officers of the county. 55642. The contract between the county and the state may provide for the duties, directions, and salaries of personnel performing rescue and resuscitator services, including volunteer firefighters, upon the terms agreed upon.
