2009 California Education Code - Section 49100-49101 :: Article 1. Employment And Attendance

SECTION 49100-49101

49100.  No minor having a permit to work and no minor under 18 years
of age, who is otherwise required by law to attend school, shall be
out of school and unemployed for a period longer than 10 consecutive
days while the public schools are in session, but shall enroll and
attend school.

49101.  The provisions of this chapter shall not apply to any minor
who has been graduated from a high school maintaining a four-year
course above the eighth grade of elementary schools, or who has had
an equal amount of education in a private school or by private
tuition, or who has been awarded a certificate of proficiency
pursuant to Section 48412 of the Education Code.
