SECTION 10830-10833



10830.  The director may conduct a demonstration project in Kern
County, with the approval of the county, pertaining to restricted
payments under Chapter 2 (commencing with Section 11200) of Part 3.



10831. The demonstration project provided for pursuant to this
chapter shall meet all of the following requirements:
   (a) The demonstration project shall operate for not more than a
period of three years.
   (b) A maximum of 2,000 assistance units shall participate in the
demonstration project.
   (c) Notwithstanding Section 11274, the county may make direct
rental payments under this chapter without the need for a finding
that a recipient has mismanaged funds.  In addition, direct rental
payments may, notwithstanding Section 11274, be made for a period in
excess of 12 months.



10832.  The director shall conduct an evaluation of the
demonstration project provided for in this chapter.  The evaluation
shall measure all of the following:
   (a) The cost-effectiveness of the demonstration project.
   (b) The satisfaction of recipients, county staff, and landlords
with the demonstration project.
   (c) Any effect of the demonstration project on the goal of
assisting recipients to become self-sufficient.



10833.  The demonstration project provided for in this chapter shall
comply with Article 1 (commencing with Section 18230) of Chapter 3.3
of Part 6.
