SECTION 13340



13340.  Whenever a regional board finds that a discharge of waste
within its region is taking place or threatening to take place which
does or will cause a condition of pollution or nuisance, constituting
an emergency requiring immediate action to protect the public
health, welfare, or safety, the Attorney General, upon request of the
board, shall petition the superior court to enjoin such discharge.
The court shall have jurisdiction to grant such prohibitory or
mandatory injunctive relief as may be warranted by way of temporary
restraining order, preliminary injunction, and permanent injunction.
