SECTION 2850-2853



2850.  Within 30 days after incorporation the board of supervisors
shall appoint a board of trustees, consisting of not less than five
nor more than nine members to act as the governing body of the
district.  At any time after the appointment of the initial board of
trustees the board of supervisors may, at the request of the existing
board of trustees of the district, increase or decrease the number
of members of the board of trustees, but such board shall under no
circumstances consist of less than five nor more than nine members.



2851.  The members of the district board shall hold office at the
pleasure of the board of supervisors. They shall serve without
compensation, but shall be allowed their necessary traveling and
other expenses incurred in performance of their official duties. In
lieu of expenses, the district board may, by resolution, provide for
the allowance and payment to each member of the board of a sum not
exceeding one hundred dollars (0) as expenses incurred in
attending each business meeting of the board. Reimbursement for these
expenses is subject to Sections 53232.2 and 53232.3 of the
Government Code.



2852.  The district board may take all necessary or proper steps for
the extermination of the pest or pests mentioned in the petition for
the organization of the district, subject to the control of city or
other public authorities having jurisdiction in the matter.



2853.  A district may destroy a record pursuant to Chapter 7
(commencing with Section 60200) of Division 1 of Title 6 of the
Government Code.
