SECTION 34000-34004



34000.  As used in this title, "legislative body" means board of
trustees, city council, or other governing body of a city.



34001.  As used in this title, unless otherwise specifically
provided, "board of supervisors" means the board of supervisors of
the county within which the city or territory is situated.



34002.  As used in this title, "mayor" includes president of the
legislative body.



34003.  The adoption of this title does not affect the organization
of any city created or organized pursuant to any law repealed or
superseded by this code.


34004.  Where any duty is imposed upon a municipal officer by any
law of this State or any rule or regulation adopted under the
authority of any such law the governing body of a city may, by
ordinance, impose such duty or a portion thereof upon such other
officer of such city as is charged under the charter of that city, or
by applicable general law with the performance of duties of the same
character in that city.  A copy of any such ordinance as adopted
shall be filed with the state officer or agency which has charge of
the matter to which such duty pertains.
