25210.21.  If a petition protesting against the adoption of a
resolution establishing a county service area is presented to the
board of supervisors within 60 days after its adoption, the
resolution shall be suspended and the supervisors shall reconsider
the resolution.  The petition shall be signed by at least 10 percent
of the registered voters residing within the county service area.



25210.22.  If the board of supervisors does not rescind the
resolution against which a petition is filed, it shall submit the
resolution to the voters of the area at either a regular election or
a special election called for the purpose.  The resolution shall have
no further effect unless and until a majority of the votes cast at
said election are cast in favor thereof.  If the resolution is not
approved by a majority of the votes cast at said election, the county
services found by the board to be extended county services shall not
thereafter be provided within such area from general funds of the
county.


25210.23.  Article 1 (commencing with Section 9100) of Chapter 2 of
Division 9 of the Elections Code, relating to the form of petitions,
the duties of the county elections official, and the manner of
holding elections, when an ordinance is proposed by initiative
petition, govern the procedure on resolutions against which a protest
is filed.
