2005 California Public Resources Code Sections 49620 Article 2. Cremation of Animal Refuse

PUBLIC RESOURCES CODE
SECTION 49620

49620.  Any person who destroys, or who attempts to destroy, the
carcass of any dead animal, or the offal from any slaughter pen,
corral, or butcher shop by fire within one-fourth of a mile of any
city, town, or village, except in a crematory whose construction and
operation are satisfactory to the board of health of the city or the
health officer of the town, is guilty of a misdemeanor, punishable by
imprisonment in the county jail for not more than one year or by
fine of not more than one thousand dollars ($1,000), or by both that
fine and imprisonment.
