SECTION 60060-60064

60060.  When the petition is filed in the office of the clerk, the
legislative body of the city may adopt an ordinance declaring its
intention to call an election in the district to submit to the
qualified electors of the district the proposition of the formation
of a district and the levying in the district of a special tax in the
manner and for the purpose set forth in the ordinance of intention.
60061.  In the ordinance of intention the legislative body may
change or modify the boundaries of the district and the character or
extent of the proposed public improvement utility, or local service.
60062.  The ordinance of intention shall contain:
   (a) A description of the exterior boundaries of the district.
   (b) A general description of the proposed improvement, utility, or
local service.
   (c) The maximum annual special tax proposed to be levied.
   (d) The number of years, not exceeding five, that the district
will endure and the tax will be levied.
   (e) A statement that an election will be called in the district to
submit to the qualified electors of the district the proposition of
the district formation and the levying of a special tax to pay for
the proposed improvement, utility, or local service.
   (f) A statement that a general description of the proposed
improvement and a map showing the exterior boundaries of the district
with relation to the immediately contiguous territory are on file in
the office of the clerk and that the map will govern for all details
as to the extent of the district.
   (g) The time and place fixed for the hearing of protests.
60063.  The ordinance shall be published once a day for at least six
days in a newspaper of general circulation published at least six
days a week in the city, or by one insertion each week for two
succeeding weeks in a newspaper published less than six days a week
in the city.  The ordinance shall take effect upon the completion of
publication.
60064.  In cities where such newspapers are not published, the
ordinance shall be posted in three public places in the city, and
shall take effect two weeks after posting.
