2005 California Government Code Sections 1340-1342 Article 3. Commissions

GOVERNMENT CODE
SECTION 1340-1342

1340.  The Governor shall commission:
   (a) All officers elected by the people whose commissions are not
otherwise provided for except those officers to whom a certificate of
election is issued by the Secretary of State.
   (b) All officers elected by the Legislature.
   (c) All officers of the Militia.
   (d) All officers appointed by the Governor, or by the Governor
with the advice and consent of the Senate.
1341.  The commissions of all officers commissioned by the Governor
shall be issued in the name of the people of the State.  They shall
be signed by the Governor and attested by the Secretary of State,
under the Great Seal.
1342.  The commissions of all other officers, where no special
provision is made by law, shall be signed by the presiding officer of
the body or by the person making the appointment.
