94990. The bureau is subject to the sunset review process conducted by the Joint Committee on Boards, Commissions, and Consumer Protection pursuant to Division 1.2 (commencing with Section 473) of the Business and Professions Code. Notwithstanding that this chapter does not specify that it will become inoperative on a specified date, the analyses, reports, public hearings, evaluations, and determinations required to be prepared, conducted, and made pursuant to Division 1.2 (commencing with Section 473) of the Business and Professions Code shall be prepared, conducted, and made in 2002 and every four years thereafter as long as this chapter is operative. 94995. (a) Notwithstanding Section 7550.5 of the Government Code, on or before January 31 of each calendar year, the bureau shall submit a written report to the Legislature and to the California Postsecondary Education Commission, summarizing its activities during the previous fiscal year. (b) Annual reports prepared pursuant to this section shall include, but shall not necessarily be limited to, all of the following: (1) Timely information relating to the enforcement activities of the bureau pursuant to this chapter. (2) Statistics providing a composite picture of the private postsecondary educational community, including data on how many schools, as classified by subject matter, and how many students there are within the scope of the activities of the bureau. (c) Any reports submitted by the bureau to the Joint Committee on Boards, Commissions, and Consumer Protection pursuant to Division 1.2 (commencing with Section 473) of the Business and Professions Code during any calendar year shall satisfy the reporting requirements of this section for that year. 94995.3. The Bureau for Private Postsecondary and Vocational Education shall submit an annual report on the collection and expenditure of moneys collected as special assessments pursuant to the act adding this section. The bureau shall submit copies of this report to the chairpersons of the Assembly Committee on Higher Education, the Senate Committee on Education, the Senate Committee on Business and Professions, the Assembly Committee on Budget, and the Senate Committee on Budget and Fiscal Review. The report required by this section may be incorporated in the bureau's annual report to the Legislature.
