EDUCATION CODE
SECTION 33370

33370.  (a) There is hereby created within the State Department of
Education an American Indian Education Unit, which shall provide
administrative oversight of American Indian education programs
established by the state and shall study and identify the cultural
and educational disadvantages affecting American Indian children in
the present existing public school system.
   (b) The Superintendent of Public Instruction shall appoint an
American Indian Education Unit Coordinator who shall be responsible
for the American Indian Education Unit.
